During the month of October there is an array of Pink everywhere you look. Anything from pink jewelry to pink clothing, pink is the color of the month! Just think about when you go to the office, in all the stores you shop at and even a bumper sticker on the car in front of you that reads "Save the tatas!" Makes it obvious enough that many people should be very aware of Breast Cancer but besides all the pink and cute things that are bought and made and sold throughout the month the real issue is the fact that many women aren't even being checked for Breast Cancer like they should. This month is not just about walking walks or donating money. This month is about awareness and being aware means making the right decisions for our health. Women are the back bone to any family and so where would our families be if they didn't have us.
I'm only 26 but have a history of cancer in my family. My Grandmother passed away at the young age of 58 to Ovarian Cancer, it was a shock to everyone and within 3 months of being diagnosed she was gone. October 31st marks the date when she left us and because she didn't get regular check ups at the Doctor her Cancer was missed until it was too late.
In honor of the Women and Men, yes men get Breast Cancer too, who have fought and survived this disease as well as those who have lost their lives I'm putting in my part to help fund more research to find a cure for the disease as well as help make my own friends and family aware and hopefully have everyone I know giving themselves check ups as well as going to the Doctor to get check. You might be wondering how I'm going to do that, well for the month of October I'll be making and selling unique one of a kind Breast Cancer awareness Bracelets.
